Genesco Announces schuh Leadership Transition
They’re still buying the wrong AI stocks
Tesla and Alphabet just tumbled, and many investors concluded AI is over. It isn't - the easy AI trade may be. History shows a similar pattern: Cisco collapsed in 2000, but the internet went on to reshape the world. The lesson applies now as markets question massive AI infrastructure spending. About Genesco

Genesco (NYSE:GCO) Inc is a Nashville, Tennessee-based retailer, wholesaler and licensee specializing in branded footwear, headwear, apparel and accessories. Through its portfolio of retail chains, wholesale distribution channels and licensing agreements, Genesco brings a range of product offerings to consumers in North America and Europe.

The company’s retail segment includes specialty chains such as Journeys, which targets fashion-focused teens and young adults in the United States and Canada, and Schuh, a footwear retailer with locations in the United Kingdom and Ireland. In the value and contemporary dress categories, Genesco operates the Johnston & Murphy brand, offering dress, casual and outdoor footwear as well as leather goods and accessories through both freestanding stores and digital channels.

On the wholesale side, Genesco designs and sources headwear, accessories and footwear for major licensed properties and department store customers. The company holds licenses for popular collegiate and professional sports teams, producing caps and other headwear under its Hat World and other label portfolios. These wholesale and licensing operations leverage Genesco’s supply-chain capabilities and long-standing relationships with manufacturers and brand partners.

Founded in 1924, Genesco has grown from a regional shoe wholesaler into a diversified footwear and accessory enterprise. The company maintains its corporate headquarters in Nashville and is guided by a senior management team with deep experience across retail operations, brand management and global sourcing. Genesco continues to pursue omnichannel growth opportunities, emphasizing digital initiatives alongside its brick-and-mortar presence.
