About Advanced Micro Devices

Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ:AMD) (NASDAQ: AMD) is a global semiconductor company that designs and sells microprocessors, graphics processors, chipsets and adaptive computing solutions for a broad set of markets. The company’s product portfolio includes consumer and commercial CPUs under the Ryzen and Threadripper brands, data center processors under the EPYC brand, and Radeon graphics processing units for gaming and professional visualization. AMD also offers semi-custom system-on-chip (SoC) products for gaming consoles and other specialized applications, and provides supporting software and platform technologies for OEMs, cloud service providers and end users.

Founded in 1969, AMD has evolved from a supplier of logic chips into a diversified, fabless semiconductor designer. The company completed the acquisition of ATI Technologies in 2006, bringing GPU expertise into its product lineup, and more recently completed the acquisition of Xilinx in 2022, expanding its capabilities in field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs), adaptive SoCs and programmable solutions. As a fabless designer, AMD relies on third-party foundries for semiconductor manufacturing and works closely with leading foundry partners to implement advanced process technologies.

AMD serves a global customer base that includes consumer PC and laptop manufacturers, enterprise and cloud datacenter operators, game console makers, gamers, content creators and embedded systems developers. Its products are used in a wide range of applications from everyday personal computing and high-performance gaming to enterprise servers, artificial intelligence inference and hardware-accelerated networking. The company operates internationally with engineering, sales and support functions across North America, Europe, Asia and other regions.

Since October 2014, Dr. Lisa Su has served as AMD’s president and chief executive officer, leading the company through a period of product and market expansion. Under her leadership AMD has emphasized high-performance microarchitectures, chiplet-based packaging approaches and strategic acquisitions to broaden its technology portfolio. The company competes in markets dominated by a few large suppliers and focuses on performance-per-watt, platform integration and partnerships with OEMs and cloud providers to drive adoption of its solutions.
