Matson, Inc. is a transportation and logistics company that provides ocean shipping and supply chain services. Through its Matson Navigation subsidiary, the company transports containers, vehicles, construction materials, food products and other cargo between the U.S. mainland and the noncontiguous markets of Hawaii, Alaska and Guam, as well as locations in the South Pacific and Micronesia.

Matson also operates ocean transportation services connecting the U.S. West Coast with China and Japan. Its services include container shipping, specialized freight transportation and terminal operations, supporting manufacturers, retailers, wholesalers and other commercial customers throughout the Pacific region.

Through Matson Logistics, the company provides domestic and international supply chain services, including freight brokerage, intermodal and rail transportation, warehousing, distribution and third-party logistics. Matson traces its history to 1882, when it was founded by William Matson to serve the growing trade between the U.S. mainland and Hawaii.
