The company’s fleet consists of high-quality crude/product container ships as well as dry-bulk carriers. The company was incorporated in 2021 and is based in Athens, Greece. Imperial Petroleum, Inc carries refined petroleum products, such as gasoline, diesel, fuel oil, and jet fuel, as well as edible oils and chemicals; and crude oils. A portion of the company’s business is done on a contract basis but most of the exposure is to the more lucrative spot market. The company was founded with the idea of rapidly growing its fleet to take advantage of market fundamentals. The company was founded by industry experts with a long track record of cost-efficient operation and sound capital management.

As of September 2022, the company owned four medium-range refined petroleum product tankers and one Aframax crude oil tanker with a total capacity of 305,804 deadweight tons. The Suez Max tankers are among the largest vessels that can fit through the Suez Canal and deliver energy products from west to east and vice versus. The Aframax ship is the standard size ship for the transportation of crude and refined products.

The company also had two additional handy-size dry bulk carriers on order slated for delivery in 2023. Ships in operation include Magic Wand, Falcon Maryam, Clean Justice, Clean Thrasher, and Clean Nirvana which are all MR-type vessels. The company also operates the Suez Enchanted and Suez Protopia Suez Max-type vessels and the Stealth Berana Aframax vessel.

The company is led by Harry N. Vafias who has been chairman of the board, CEO, and president since the company's inception in early 2021. Mr. Vafias has over 30 years of experience in the shipping industry and specifically in the energy transportation market. Mr. Vafias has a master's degree in Shipping Trade and Transport.
