What are Wall Street analysts saying about United Natural Foods stock?

Here are some recent quotes from research analysts about United Natural Foods stock:
  • 1. According to Zacks Investment Research, "United Natural’s impressive strategies have been driving its earnings surprise history. Notably, the company is committed toward achieving core targets for 2018, which includes plans to enhance customer base, improve gross margin, expand e-commerce operations and retain focus on mergers and buyouts. These factors and solid consumer demand fueled United Foods’ third-quarter fiscal 2018 results, wherein the top and bottom lines grew year over year and supernatural sales marked its highest growth rate. We expect such positives and management’s raised outlook to help uplift the stock that has dipped 2.1% in a year, though it fared better than the industry. Well, higher-than-expected demand has been pressurizing the company’s supply chain, leading to unfavorable fill-rates. Additionally, dismal gross margin trends stemming from unfavorable shift in consumer mix and higher inbound freight costs pose significant worries." (6/12/2018)
  • 2. Pivotal Research analysts commented, "We’ve now modeled capex at around 1.0% of sales for FY19-20 (from 0.6% previously). Despite surging revenue, guidance raise seems all tax cut driven – There is little substantive change in the pre-tax earnings range based on each recent guidance revision. After stripping out the impact of the tax rate changes, we estimate that the implied pre-tax income range for FY18 is around $229-$235 million (virtually unchanged from the prior range). The upside in the latest guidance appears to be driven almost entirely by the tax rate. The takeaway is that there is little or no flow through to earnings from the improving top-line outlook. We would infer that most of this incremental volume is coming from Amazon." (3/12/2018)
  • 3. Argus analysts commented, "strengthened" its balance sheet and offered investors "solid" guidance for the full-year in its fourth-quarter earnings report. The firm's David Coleman upgrades United Natural Foods' stock from Hold to Buy with a $49 price target.United Natural Foods guided its full year fiscal 2018 revenue to be higher by 3.8 to 5.8 percent, or $9.63 to $9.81 billion, the analyst highlighted in his upgrade note. The earnings report also demonstrated management's commitment to improving its balance sheet while not shying away from accretive M&A deals.Throughout fiscal 2017 the company oversaw four acquisitions and even more deals are "expected" (9/25/2017)
