What are analysts saying about Community Health Systems stock?
Here are some recent quotes from research analysts about Community Health Systems stock:
- Cantor Fitzgerald analysts commented, "We are lowering our 2017 earnings estimate, initiating a 2018 estimate that is substantially higher and reiterating our Neutral rating. We are lowering our 2017 adjusted EPS estimate (diluted) to $0.70 (from $1.00) to reflect increased visibility of this year's headwinds, but initiating a 2018 estimate that reflects our view of the company's potential leverage as it restructures its portfolio and pays down debt. We are raising our price target to $8 (from $7) to reflect the divestitures CYH has already announced and the prices (about 10x EBITDA) that it is achieving. We expect CYH's downsizing will continue for quite awhile, increasing its focus on larger, more urban hospitals that we believe will enjoy better fundamentals. The shares traded up 34% today." (2/22/2017)
Jefferies Group LLC analysts commented, "We give credit to CYH mgmt. for their success in aggressively adjusting the company’s cost structure, which translated into a good EBITDA beat in Q4 and in-line FY17 EBITDA guidance." (2/21/2017)
According to Zacks Investment Research, "Community Health is well positioned to benefit from The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA). Inorganic growth including accretive acquisitions and strategic divestures has been a major revenue driver for the company as well. However, the company suffers from rising debt level and uncertainty over regulatory reforms. Revenue concentration is another major headwind as it generates a significant part of its revenues from a selected number of states like Florida, Pennsylvania, Texas, Indiana and Tennessee. Trump’s decision of replacing ACA is also another threat to the company’s future revenue growth. Over last one year, the stock has lost 71%, compared to 1.7% gained by the Zacks Categorized Hospitals industry. It is expected to release its earnings on Feb 20. Zacks Rank #3 (Hold) with earnings ESP of 0.00% makes the surprise prediction difficult for the coming quarter." (1/31/2017)
