Crypto traders have a name for this month... Uptober. Since 2013, Bitcoin has closed October higher in 10 of 13 years, with an average gain close to 19%. And this year may be setting up better than most. Bitcoin just strung together its first positive August and September since at least 2013. Historically, when September finished green, October followed with a gain four times out of five. History isn't a guarantee. But I pay attention when the calendar and the momentum line up.

Rumors are swirling that Elon Musk is developing a new mobile device that could rival the iPhone. It's said to be thinner, longer-lasting on battery, and cheaper to produce, with the ability to work worldwide without relying on cell towers. Former Bloomberg reporter and SAC Capital trader Josh Baylin says the evidence is mounting. He notes the FCC recently gave Musk a green light connected to his mobile plans, adding fuel to speculation. Baylin previously called the smartphone boom in 2004 and predicted Apple would sell a billion phones when others expected a fraction of that.
