The stock has been on a wild ride since the company went public this summer, and new product launches and partnerships keep coming. The story and momentum seem to be there. The financials are not yet.
Despite some excitement, Securitize is a new name with little trading history, and the business is still burning cash. Regulatory support and a growing base of tokenized assets point one way, while shrinking revenue, a guidance cut, and a rich valuation point the other.
Investors weighing a position should keep in mind that this is a bet on blockchain-based markets going mainstream, and that the range of possible outcomes is wide.
New Products and Partnerships Drive Investor Interest
Securitize went public on July 2 through a merger with a special purpose acquisition company. It became the first IPO company to tokenize its own stock on the first day of trading.
Since then, news keeps coming.
The stock got a particular boost when the SEC granted a five-year Innovation Exemption on Sept. 17 for certain tokenized U.S. stocks to trade on permissioned venues. That sent Securitize's shares up well over 20% in the days that followed.
Also in September, Cathie Wood’s ARK Invest tokenized its ARK Venture Fund with Securitize.
On Oct. 8, Securitize launched Securitize Stocks, offering 12 tokenized U.S. equities, including Apple NASDAQ: AAPL, Microsoft NASDAQ: MSFT, and NVIDIA NASDAQ: NVDA, backed one-to-one by real shares and settled in USDC on the Solana blockchain network.
The same week, it announced a partnership to explore developing tokenized assets and digital asset infrastructure in the Korean financial markets.
Revenue Declines as Losses Widen
The company’s actual results, at least for now, are less compelling. In the second quarter, reported Aug. 12, revenue fell 5% to $14.4 million, as tokenization revenue, which accounted for about 54% of revenue, declined. The other component, asset servicing, edged up.
Overall, the net loss was $21.7 million, or $2.37 per share, versus 72 cents a year earlier. Adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) swung to a loss of $5.5 million from a $1.8 million profit a year ago.
Some of that loss was accounting noise. A large charge for option liabilities was partly offset by a gain on derivative liabilities, and management pointed out these items were non-cash. But operating costs also jumped by more than half as the company hired staff and absorbed public-listing expenses.
Transaction Volume Grows as Guidance Pulls Back
In general, the growth case rests on volume and assets. Transaction volume of $5.3 billion was more than double the year-ago period, and tokenized assets under management reached $4.3 billion, an increase of 16%. The merger also transformed the balance sheet as Securitize said it has about $350 million in cash and no debt.
But management also lowered expectations. Securitize now sees 2026 revenue of $70 million to $80 million, down from an earlier view of $85 million, and it is no longer supporting positive adjusted EBITDA this year.
Analysts Remain Cautiously Optimistic

Securitize Stock Forecast DetailsFor the most part, analysts are leaning positive. With eight analysts tracking the stock, five have given Securitize a Buy rating, two recommend Hold, and one suggests Sell.
The consensus rating is a Moderate Buy with an average 12-month target price of $14.37. The highest target price is $21.20, while the lowest is $10 per share.
Analyst actions have also been mixed. In August, Benchmark cut its Buy target, and the stock fell in response. Citigroup lowered its rating in October to Neutral from Buy, though it raised its target to $14 from $10 per share. Two other analysts raised their targets since late September.
Price levels have similarly been active. The stock is up nearly 40% over the past month, but down 19% over the past five days. Shares closed their first trading day at $12.30 on July 2 and are currently trading at around $11.20 per share.
Crypto Volatility and Competition Pose Risks
Among the risks is that Securitize depends heavily on the crypto cycle, and management said the crypto market was well short of its earlier forecast for year-end.
In addition, tokenization revenue is project-based and lumpy, and large-institution launches, such as the planned NYSE digital trading platform, could slip into 2027.
Competition also includes the tokenization effort of the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) and a slew of private startups. Among publicly traded companies, there are several either directly or overlapping in the field, including Figure Technology Solutions NASDAQ: FIGR and Exodus Movement (NYSE American: EXOD).
There is also headline risk. The Pomerantz law firm announced an investigation on behalf of Securitize investors through two notices in October. These do not specify any wrongdoing and are not findings, but they can weigh on sentiment.
Finally, some of the most exciting news is still unproven. The deal in Korea, for example, is only an agreement to explore, and the company’s Securitize Stocks is only just launching.
Investors Should Watch for Financial Improvement
Securitize's pioneering position, cash cushion, and new regulatory support are real strengths. But revenue is shrinking for now, losses are widening, and guidance was cut. Shares are valued like a business that is already succeeding.
For many, a broader shift to tokenization is attractive. Still, investors should consider this a speculative rather than a traditional growth investment, meaning the price reflects potential not yet realized results.
Instead, those interested should watch for confirming evidence, such as rising quarterly revenue and a path to positive adjusted EBITDA, when the next earnings come on Nov. 11. For risk-tolerant investors who believe in the long-term shift to tokenized markets, Securitize is probably worth noting on their calendars.
