The company primarily supports independent hotel owners and franchisees through brand standards, reservations, marketing, technology, loyalty programs and operational resources. Choice also provides extended-stay lodging through several brands and expanded its U.S. hotel portfolio with the acquisition of the Radisson Hotels Americas business in 2022.

Choice Hotels traces its origins to 1939, when it was established as Quality Courts United, an early hotel-referral organization. The company adopted the Choice Hotels name in 1990 and has since developed into a global lodging franchisor serving travelers across the United States and in international markets. Patrick Pacious has served as the company’s president and chief executive officer since 2017.
