What are Wall Street analysts saying about Arch Capital Group stock?
Here are some recent quotes from research analysts about Arch Capital Group stock:
- 1. Wells Fargo analysts commented, "We are now including $67.5 million of cats, the mid-point of its previewed range. We had been including $57.5 million of cats in our model. As a result of the higher cats than we were modeling (due to the December fires) we are lowering our estimate to $1.20 (from $1.25) for the Q4 and $3.06 for FY 2017 (compared to our prior $3.12). Our 2018 and 2019 EPS estimates and price target are unchanged. Updated for cat losses outside of the October wildfires. The company now expects $60-75 million of pre-tax losses from Q4 cats (about 0.7-0.9% of its equity) from the California fires (October and December) and other global events, up from its prior estimate of $30-55 million of losses disclosed in its 10Q (the prior disclosure was only for the October wildfires). Most of the losses in the quarter stemmed from its non-U.S." (1/9/2018)
- 2. According to Zacks Investment Research, "Shares of Arch Capital have outperformed the industry year to date. Arch Capital has a strong product portfolio and has been maintaining an exemplary track record of premium growth. This apart, the company has been making efforts to diversify its Mortgage Insurance business through strategic acquisitions. Moreover, the insurer remains focused in boosting shareholders’ value. However, exposure to catastrophe losses poses an inherent risk to the P&C business, inducing volatility in underwriting results. Arch Capital estimated third-quarter 2017 after-tax cat losses between $285 million and $345 million. A still low interest rate environment and intense competition are concerns. The company will release its third quarter results on Oct 25th after the market closes. A Zacks Rank #3 increases the predictive power of a beat but when combined with Earnings ESP of 0.00% makes prediction difficult for beat." (10/25/2017)
