Its products are used by manufacturers in the paper, packaging, construction, food, pharmaceutical, agriculture, energy and other industrial markets.

The company’s Specialty Minerals businesses produce precipitated calcium carbonate, which is used as a paper filler and coating pigment, as well as mineral-based products for construction materials, automotive components, polymers, paints, coatings, food and other applications. Minerals Technologies also supplies bentonite, talc, limestone, dolomite and other processed mineral products, along with performance materials and technologies designed to improve manufacturing processes and finished-product characteristics.

Through its Refractories segment, the company provides refractory products and services for high-temperature industrial operations, particularly the steel industry. These offerings include monolithic and brick refractories, furnace and ladle products, metallurgical additives and related maintenance and technical services. Minerals Technologies serves customers through operations and facilities in North America, South America, Europe, Asia and other international markets. The company was formed in 1992 following the separation of Pfizer’s specialty minerals business.
