About Costamare

Costamare (NYSE:CMRE) is a global shipping company that owns and operates containerships and dry bulk vessels. Its containership fleet transports manufactured goods, consumer products and other containerized cargo through international liner shipping networks, while its dry bulk vessels carry commodities such as grains, coal and other bulk materials.

The company typically employs a chartering strategy under which its vessels are leased to shipping companies and other customers through time-charter and voyage arrangements. Its vessels serve international trade routes across major markets in Europe, Asia, the Americas, Africa and other regions, depending on customer requirements and vessel deployment.

Costamare was founded in 1974 by the Konstantakopoulos family and has its roots in Greece’s shipping industry. The company became publicly listed on the New York Stock Exchange in 2010. Costamare is led by Chief Executive Officer Konstantinos Konstantakopoulos, who is also associated with the company’s founding family.
