The company has streamlined its operations around property and casualty insurance after exiting most of its life and annuity businesses.

Allstate was founded in 1931 as part of Sears, Roebuck & Co. and became an independent publicly traded company in 1995. Headquartered in Northbrook, Illinois, it primarily serves customers across the United States. Tom Wilson has served as Allstate’s chief executive officer since 2007 and as chairman since 2008.
