What are analysts saying about IDEX Corporation stock?
Here are some recent quotes from research analysts about IDEX Corporation stock:
According to Zacks Investment Research, "IDEX has underperformed the industry over the last three months owing to macroeconomic challenges. IDEX’s performance is exposed to the frailties in the U.S. and international markets. The company also entails huge recurring R&D expenses that swell operating costs and reduce its price control, often leading to lower operating margin. Volatility in raw material prices and foreign exchange risks remain other headwinds. In addition, the company’s acquisition binge entail huge integration costs which often become a drag on the profitability. IDEX further anticipates organic revenue for 2016 to be down 1% on soft demand patterns in its energy and agriculture businesses. However, IDEX is striving to counter the muted growth environment by improving productivity, optimizing its cost structure and reallocating resources. The company has a positive earnings history while estimates have remained steady in the last month." (1/16/2017)
Jefferies Group LLC analysts commented, "IEX reported 2Q16 EPS of $0.99, which is above our and consensus estimate of $0.92 and $0.93, respectively. The guide was $0.91-$0.93. The $0.07 beat vs. our estimate was due to: Opt income (+$0.03) and a lower than expected non-ops (+$0.04). Core sales of -1% trailed our / guides’ flat estimate. Core orders were -2% (1QA: -3%)."
