What are analysts saying about Regions Financial Corporation stock?
Here are some recent quotes from research analysts about Regions Financial Corporation stock:
FBR & Co analysts commented, "RF reported solid 4Q16 results that were in line with our estimate and consensus. Results were supported by NIM expansion, which supported a higher-than-expected NII and lower-than-expected expenses, offset by lower-than-expected fee income. RF’s outlook for 2017 was unchanged, but we note that management was upbeat about the potential for improving loan growth, citing increased customer optimism, which we expect will translate into a better outlook for 2018. We continue to believe that RF is well positioned to benefit from the new political environment as the benefits of higher loan growth and higher NIMs are enhanced by greater capital deployment given RF’s strong capital ratios." (1/23/2017)
According to Zacks Investment Research, "Regions Financial’s first-quarter 2016 earnings outpaced the Zacks Consensus Estimate and came ahead of the prior-year quarter earnings as well. Results benefited from top-line growth and reduced expenses, partially offset by higher provisions. Further, growth in loan and deposit balances remained the tailwinds. We believe that the company’s favorable funding mix, improved core business performance and strategic acquisitions will act as catalysts in the near term. Also, steady capital-deployment measures boost the investors’ confidence in the stock. However, several issues including stricter regulations, exposure in the stressed energy sector and muted growth in fee income remain matters of concern." (4/19/2016)
Robert W. Baird analysts commented, "We estimate core pre-provision earnings +7% Q/Q and +17% Y/Y ." (4/19/2016)
