The trust currently holds shares of common stock or American depositary shares issued by a group of companies that were, at the time of the initial offering, generally considered to be involved in various segments of thebiotechnology industry.

The Underlying Index consists of common stocks of the United States healthcare companies. These are companies that are principally engaged in the business of providing healthcare-related products and services, including biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical technology and supplies, and facilities. The Fund seeks to normally invest at least 90% of its total assets in common stocks that comprise the Underlying Index. The Fund seeks to invest 25% or more of the value of its total assets in securities of issuers in an industry or group of industries to the extent that the Underlying Index concentrates in an industry or group of industries. The Fund's investment adviser is Invesco PowerShares Capital Management LLC.

PowerShares Dynamic Healthcare Sector Portfolio (the Fund) seeks investment results that correspond generally to the price and yield of the Dynamic Healthcare Sector Intellidex Index (the Index). The Fund will normally invest at least 90% of its total assets in common stocks that comprise the Index. The Index thoroughly evaluates companies based on a variety of investment merit criteria, including fundamental growth, stock valuation, investments and risk factors. Securities shown to possess the greatest capital appreciation potential are selected by the Index.The Fund invests only in health care sector. The Fund's investment advisor is PowerShares Capital Management LLC.
