What are analysts saying about Eastman Chemical Company stock?
Here are some recent quotes from research analysts about Eastman Chemical Company stock:
- Instinet analysts commented, "We reiterate Buy on EMN and raise our target from $77 to $87. We continue to view EMN as a rare value stock after valuations elsewhere in the sector expanded more dramatically. EMN appears to alternate between "solid" and "soft" quarters recently. We consider 4Q16 to be in the latter category and expect more convincing performance in 1H17 due to a) commodity spreads improving; b) pricing catching up with raw materials in more differentiated businesses; c) progress with new products that starts to moderately help earnings. Filter tow, while a source of risk, now represents only 13% of EBITDA, and will see more stable pricing over next 2-3 years, in our view. FY17E EPS at $7.35; FY18E EPS at $7.84." (2/1/2017)
According to Zacks Investment Research, "Eastman Chemical has outperformed the Zacks categorized 'Chemicals-Diversified' industry over the past three months, partly attributable to its forecast-topping earnings performance in third-quarter 2016. The company gained from its cost-reduction actions and strong growth of its high value products in the quarter. Eastman Chemical remains focused on cost-cutting and productivity actions amid a challenging operating environment. The company is looking to reduce at least $100 million of costs by the end of 2016. Further, the company should gain from its strategic acquisitions and capacity expansion actions. Eastman Chemical also remains committed to reduce debt and boost shareholder returns leveraging healthy free cash flows." (12/14/2016)
