What are analysts saying about Tiffany & Co. stock?
Here are some recent quotes from research analysts about Tiffany & Co. stock:
- 1. Cowen and Company analysts commented, "We view FY17 guidance as achievable w/ upside potential given credible plans to drive product newness, while tighter inventory mgmt. should drive store traffic in 2017. New executive & creative mgmt. are catalysts for change, margin enhancement & digital restructuring. More personalized customer connectivity also a key online opportunity. Reit. Outperform given our near & long-term view on upside." (3/20/2017)
- 2. Mizuho analysts commented, "We are raising our estimates and PT to $85 (20x FY18 EPS) from $74 to reflect solid execution as demonstrated in the 4Q beat and above-consensus FY17 outlook. Despite the difficult global environment, management continues to focus on product introductions, enhancing brand engagement, and CRM while improving the cost structure. While compares are easy (especially in 1H) and TIF will likely remain the beneficiary of favorable input costs and modest price increase, we wonder if guidance for +MSD sales growth (in CC) may be too optimistic given macro volatility. With shares trading in-line with its peer group of ~21x on our newly raised estimates, we view shares as fairly valued." (3/17/2017)
- 3. According to Zacks Investment Research, "We believe Tiffany’s omni-channel platform, store expansion programs, tapping of new markets and venturing into new revenue generating avenues may help improve performance, as evident from back-to-back positive earnings surprises. However, the lackluster performance this holiday season may hurt the stock in the near term that has outperformed the industry in the past one year. Management stated that soft consumer spending and lowered sales at Fifth Avenue Flagship Store on account of its proximity to the Trump Tower hurt its sales. Further, the company pointed that though macroeconomic headwinds will prevail in 2017, it will counter the same through strategic initiatives and cost containment efforts. Management anticipates earnings per share for fiscal 2016 to decline by “no more than a mid-single-digit percentage” and reaffirmed that worldwide net sales is expected to decline by a low-single-digit percentage." (3/16/2017)
- 4. Jefferies Group LLC analysts commented, "Since our Nov. '16 deep-dive, key tenets of our thesis have begun with fashion jewelry inflecting positively and tourism headwinds abating. Recent hires have strengthened TIF's design and finance functions, and we believe the ongoing CEO search will solidify an upgraded exec. team more capable of accelerating product innovation. Reiterate Buy, $102 PT. Investment thesis. TIF has a strong positioning in a growing market. Catalysts include fashion jewelry improvement, tourism headwinds abating, more innovative marketing efforts to grow brand loyalty, and an upward multiple adjustment toward peers." (3/15/2017)
- 5. Instinet analysts commented, "One wouldn't think that a stock within ~15% of all-time highs and GMs at post-IPO peaks would have just gone through a multi-management turnover & an-investor led Board reshuffle. Clearly, product/comps will be critical for TIF's success. However, through our P&L deep dive, we see material comp-independent levels available to a new management & Board. Although shares are 8% from our current $98 TP, any of the scenarios that follow could add upside from here." (3/6/2017)
