What are analysts saying about Connecticut Water Service stock?
Here are some recent quotes from research analysts about Connecticut Water Service stock:
According to Zacks Investment Research, "Shares of Connecticut Water Services returned higher than the broader industry in the last twelve month. The company continues to strengthen its existing infrastructure through regular capital investments, which is a must for the water utility space. In addition, customer expansion in its service territories is boosting demand while a constructive regulatory environment is helping the company generate additional revenues. Strategic acquisitions continue to be part of Connecticut Water’s growth strategy. However the company is subject to stringent environment regulations, demand variations with weather patterns, risk of failure of water mains and contamination of water sources which are the primary headwinds for the company." Barclays PLC analysts commented, "We see potential upside growth from tuck in acquisitions and acceleration of main replacement. We see potential downside risks from regulatory outcomes and customer bill impacts if repair tax accounting does not continue," analyst Daniel Ford wrote in a note.Related Link: FDA Orders Stores To Cleanse Their Shelves Of Ineffective Hand SoapsHowever, the analyst noted a key risk in the form of regulation as about 95 percent of the company's earnings are regulated. The company operates in Connecticut and Maine, with the Connecticut jurisdiction being consolidated and Maine having multiple regulatory jurisdictions. "Both Maine and Connecticut have decoupling in place as well as DSIC like trackers to allow for the contemporaneous return of certain capital investments," (9/6/2016)
